Wintering in Central Texas

As we hang out at the La Hacienda RV Resort in the Austin area, we have been very blessed to be near family and wonderful friends that we have made here since 2005.   We spent quality time with our son John's family, flew to Portland to spend Christmas with Ken and Tricia and the kids, got together here in TX with friends for birthday celebrations and Christmas parties and a nice camping outing with friends in Kerrville, TX.   Interspersed with all that, John had the opportunity to teach through the book of 1 John for 7 weeks to our adult class at Hill Country Bible Church Austin.  If anyone is interested, it is a powerful little book (5 chapters) on the subject of "The Gateway to Fellowship with God".   I can send my PowerPoints if anyone is interested.

The pictures represent a small fraction of the joy we have felt here in the last 2 1/2 months.

First....family at La Hacienda.

At Christmas, we attended a production of Follow The Star at Good Shepherd Church in Cedar Park, TX about the story of Jesus.  Jesus came over to John and another boy for a hug.

From here, at La Hacienda RV Resort, we are focusing on repairs and projects as we prepare to leave on March 6.  Lord willing, we will be heading to FL to see our siblings, attend various family events in different states and be able to see more of the Southeast and Midwest.  We also hope to head out west to see national parks and return to Texas by the end of October.

We appreciate prayers for safety and opportunities to share our faith as we travel.

  2. It was so good to read about your time over Christmas and to see your pictures. Your life seems full and fulfilling. Is that your daughter Tricia with you Linda near Portland and the falls?
She is beautiful. Portland is where I had my cancer surgery 51 years ago now. We lived in Dallas, near Salem for over 8 years. We still keep in touch with those people. God is blessing you. It so good to travel now when you are young and have the energy. We love you and pray God guidance and blessing in the new year. Our forever love, Pete and Shirley Unrau
